hey everyone!  this is nicole, bill says we should be sending you emails about how things are going down here in honduras.  So, today we went to morning mass in villanueva and saw the day care center that we will be working on its looking really good.  Later in the day we headed up into the mountains and attended a second mass in chazsomethinorother ill tell you later what the real name is.  but anyways it was pretty cool the mountains were all tropical and such and margarita, who is very nice by the way showed us the place the orphanage will be going.  the second church service was fun people seem happy to have us here.  Comunication is pretty easy, many here speak english.  I loved the church services, kids were runnin around crawling under chairs, alex and mom made friends, also dogs attended the sevices, dont see that in virginia!  now i need to go eat dinner and will write more later,   love to all and thankyou for your prayers!!!  Muchas Muchas Muchas amor,  Nicola

Today was so fun. We woke up at 6:30 and went downstairs to eat breakfast. The food was AMAZING. It was a bit expensive though. At 8:30 we got on the bus to go to church in Villa Nueva. Margarita showed us around the daycare center. Church was very interesting because we could only catch tiny bits of what they were all saying. All the children were so beautiful and especially liked Bill and my dad. My mom made friends with one girl and my dad made several friends. Then, we went to lunch with Margarita and the Pastor in a tiny restaurant with a gigantic t.v. screen. Afterwards, we went up the mountain to see the orphanage site. Some of the people from the church went up with us and sang many fun songs. We hiked all around and took lots of pictures of the mountains and people. We also had a second worship service that a few dogs attended. All the people were so friendly and gave us a taste of coconut milk. Then we  came home to our very comfortable hotel and I went for a swim.

From Renee Geiger -

Hello everyone, and especially mi esposo, Bill. We had a full day today, as you will read in Alex´s e-mail.  The Lord has really used Margarita, the Episcopal missionary to Villa Nueva, in a mighty way.  Faced with the decision to concentrate the efforts of the Hondouran Diosees on either a daycare center or an orphanage, she concluded after much prayer that they should build both!  The daycare center alone has tapped all of the available finances and then some.  Margarita is not dismayed!  She is confident that God will provide all her needs, because He has moved so many mountains for her already. Despite our impression that there were scores of groups coming to help build the daycare center, there have in fact, been only three.  We are the fourth, and she is elated that we heard the Lord´s voice to come and help.  We will be, with God´s help and Charlie´s construction expertise, painting all of the rooms in the daycare center, starting tomorrow. I was humbled that Margarita and Father Francisco collected all of the uneaten food from our lunch to give the children who attend the church a good meal. We are all well so far, but pray for Andrea as she had an upset stomach most of the day.  Also, pray that we will be ale to use every scap of time we have to be the greatest blessing possible. Miss you! Renee

Noticias de Honduras  Bill left out a couple of highlights about the travel.  Near the end of the flight into San Salvador, the plane twice experienced palpable turbulence which resulted in all the children (all latino) on board going "whhhooooaaaa" in sheer delight.  Coming into San Pedro Sula, with a perfect landing, many on board applauded and raised their hands in appreciation of .....the pilot, God.  Very cool.  For whoever goes next year, bring cash to pay for the food on TACA.

Today we went to church in Villanueva after touring the daycare center which is well on its way to completion.  All of my study of Spanish didn`t help a whole lot in understanding the homily, which had something to do with Jonas and Jesus praying.  Too fast and so so acoustics.  We had lunch after in a very basic restaurant with huge servings.  The real ministry for me began today after lunch.  That is to say, the ministry of these wonderful people to us.  On a twelve mile long climb in a Sherman tank-like school bus, 8 or 9 kids sang almost nonstop and got all of us involved singing with them. At the top of a mountain in the wilds of Honduras, it seemed, we saw where the new orphanage will be built and hiked to the actual site (me with my walking stick).  Juana, the local matriarch with nine children and four grandchildren, introduced herself to me, saw I was having trouble with my balance, grabbed my hand, and didn't let go while we walked the quarter mile back to the church over a very uneven, rugged road.  Then, another service at this mountaintop church, with a dog joining us, and wonderful connections to people.

God's presence in this place and with these people is very real.

Andrea is recovering from an attack of something to her digestive system (anti-malarial meds, omelette with onions, tea, altitude, etc).  Father and daughter are enjoying this trip together.

More to come, please continue to pray.
